Sometimes There Just Aren't Enough Rocks

Sometimes There Just Aren't Enough Rocks

You Know Those Days...

So, there I was, knee-deep in my backyard, trying to create some sort of Zen rock garden. You know, the ones with the perfect little paths and stones artfully arranged to represent some ancient wisdom or another. I had the rake, the gloves, even a tiny bonsai tree to complete the look. But here's the thing, there just weren't enough rocks.

I mean, I had a decent pile, but every time I thought I'd nailed it, I'd stand back and realize, nope, still needed more. It was like trying to fill a hole in the ground with a teaspoon. I could've sworn I'd bought a truckload, but apparently, my garden gnomes had been on a rock-binge and had hidden the rest.

Rocks, Schmocks

Now, you might be thinking, "Who cares about rocks? It's just a garden." But stick with me, because this isn't really about rocks. It's about feeling like there's never enough - time, money, resources, whatever. It's about that constant sense that we're falling short, that we're not quite measuring up.

I mean, let's face it, we live in a world that's constantly telling us we need more. More stuff, more followers, more likes, more success. It's exhausting, right? We're like Sisyphus, pushing that boulder uphill, only to have it roll back down again. And we're left thinking, "If only I had more rocks..."

Rocks of Ages

But here's the thing, folks. Sometimes, it's not about the rocks. Sometimes, it's about how we're using them. I could've spent all day hunting down more rocks, but instead, I took a step back, looked at what I had, and decided it was good enough. It wasn't perfect, but it was enough.

And you know what? That little rock garden turned out pretty great. It wasn't the most Instagram-worthy thing out there, but it was mine. It was a reminder that sometimes, we just need to work with what we've got and call it a day.

Rock On

So, the next time you find yourself thinking, "If only I had more rocks..." stop. Take a breath. Look at what you've got. Because chances are, you've got enough. You've got enough to create something beautiful, something meaningful, something you.

And if all else fails, you can always blame the garden gnomes. They're probably hiding your rocks, too.
