University Of Nebraska-lincoln Mascot Herbie Husker
Hey there, sports fans! You know who's always ready to party and pump up the crowd? None other than our furry friend, Herbie Husker, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's one and only mascot!
Who's This Furry Fellow?
Herbie, you ask? Well, let me spill the beans. He's a lovable, larger-than-life cornhusker, a symbol of Nebraska's rich agricultural heritage. He's been cheering on the Cornhuskers since 1954, making him a true veteran of the sidelines!
Now, you might be wondering, "Why a cornhusker, Nebraska?" Well, my friend, Nebraska is the nation's leading producer of corn, and a cornhusker is the tool used to harvest it. So, it's only fitting that our mascot represents the state's most important crop!

Herbie might be a farmer at heart, but he's got some serious dance moves! You should see him busting a move on the sidelines. He's got the whole stadium grooving with him. It's like watching a cornfield come to life!
And let's not forget his signature "Herbie Hop." It's a sight to behold, let me tell you. It's like a cornhusker's version of the moonwalk. You can't help but cheer along when you see it!
More Than Just a Mascot
Herbie isn't just a mascot; he's a symbol of unity and school spirit. He's been there through thick and thin, cheering on the Cornhuskers in victory and consoling them in defeat. He's a constant reminder of what it means to be a Cornhusker.
He's also a bit of a local celebrity. You'll find him making appearances at events all over Lincoln. From charity events to school visits, Herbie is always spreading joy and goodwill. He's like the mayor of Lincoln, but with a cornhusker hat!
Herbie's Hall of Fame Moment
Did you know Herbie has a place in the College Football Hall of Fame? That's right! In 2011, he was inducted for his contributions to college football. It's a well-deserved honor for our furry friend!
It just goes to show that you don't need to be a star player to make a big impact. Herbie's been inspiring Cornhuskers and fans alike for decades, and he's not slowing down anytime soon!
So, What Makes Herbie So Special?
Herbie's special because he's more than just a mascot. He's a symbol of unity, a source of joy, and a constant reminder of what it means to be a Cornhusker. He's been there through it all, cheering us on and making us smile.
