What Stores Are Going To Be Open On Thanksgiving Day

So, there I was, last Thanksgiving, scrolling through my Instagram feed, when I stumbled upon a friend's post. She was standing in line at Walmart, at 9 PM, on Thanksgiving night. I mean, who does that? But then it hit me, I hadn't even thought about what stores would be open. I was too busy planning my turkey coma. So, let's dive into it, shall we? What stores are going to be open on Thanksgiving Day?

Why Do Stores Open on Thanksgiving Anyway?

Alright, let's get the elephant out of the room. Why do stores even think it's a good idea to open on Thanksgiving? Well, it's all about the Black Friday hype. They want to get a head start on the shopping frenzy. Plus, let's face it, we're a society that loves our convenience. We want our pumpkin pie and our new TV, and we want them now.

But Wait, Isn't It Controversial?

Oh, absolutely. There's been a lot of backlash about stores opening on Thanksgiving. It's a day for family, food, and football, not fighting over the last flat-screen TV. Some stores have even reversed their policies in response to the criticism. But, for now, many still plan to open their doors.

So, Who's Open?

Alright, let's get to the nitty-gritty. Here are some of the stores that have confirmed they'll be open on Thanksgiving. But remember, this can change, so always check before you head out.

Walmart

No surprises here. Walmart is a Thanksgiving shopping staple. They'll be open all day, with deals starting at 6 PM. But hey, if you're planning to camp out, maybe bring a blanket. It gets chilly in those aisles.

Target

Target is another biggie. They'll be open from 5 PM until 1 AM, then reopen at 7 AM on Black Friday. That's a lot of shopping hours, folks. Make sure to pace yourself with those samples.

Kohl's

Kohl's is going big this year, opening at 5 PM and staying open until midnight. Then, they'll reopen at 6 AM on Black Friday. They're even offering $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent, so you might want to bring your math skills.

Best Buy

Best Buy is another one joining the Thanksgiving shopping party. They'll be open from 5 PM until 1 AM, then reopen at 8 AM on Black Friday. If you're planning to snag a new TV, make sure to wear your comfiest shoes. Those lines can get long.

Macy's

Macy's is getting in on the action too, opening at 5 PM and staying open until midnight. Then, they're back at it at 6 AM on Black Friday. They're even offering doorbusters every hour, so set your alarm.

But What About the Stores That Aren't?

Not all stores are jumping on the Thanksgiving shopping bandwagon. Some, like REI, are actually closing their doors to encourage their employees to #OptOutside. Others, like Costco and Home Depot, are sticking to their regular hours. It's a mixed bag, folks.

So, What's the Verdict?

Look, I'm not here to tell you how to spend your Thanksgiving. If you're a Black Friday shopping pro, more power to you. But if you're like me, and the thought of fighting crowds makes you want to reach for the turkey and the remote, don't worry. There's plenty of time to shop on Black Friday. Or, you know, you could just order everything online. No lines, no crowds, just you, your laptop, and your leftovers. Sounds like a plan to me.

Happy Thanksgiving, folks. Whether you're shopping, cooking, or just enjoying some quality time with the fam, make it a good one. And remember, no matter what, there's always pie. And that's something to be thankful for.
